The TV’s Dynamic Contrast Ratio rates at 3000000:1 with an actual performance of 2000:1. This performance provides the TV the capability to display vivid details in both dark and bright images. Deep black performance is excellent for this Plasma TV at 0.09 cd/m2. The TV’s deep black level can provide good details in shadows and dark images without any problems. The peak brightness performance is not as good as in LCD TVs. Peak brightness level is about 200 cd/m2. Pure white and other bright images may look dull and dark when viewed in this TV’s screen compared to LCD TVs.
Color accuracy is excellent for this LG TV as well. There is no oversaturation in any of the major colors and the TV can accurately reproduce vivid and life-like images uniformly. There are no errors or irregularities in color reproduction across the screen.
There are several video processing settings available to enhance the user’s viewing experience. The TV has a Dynamic Contrast setting that adjusts the contrast level to maximize picture quality. In addition, a Noise Reduction setting effectively eliminates noise in videos without compromising the video’s quality. An Edge Enhancer enhances the picture’s edges to provide a sharper image. The TV’s Intelligent Sensor automatically adjusts the TV’s brightness according to the room’s lighting to maximize your viewing experience.
This TV features a 600 Hz Sub Field Drive that provides seamless motion picture display. The fast refresh rate provides smooth transition in fast action clips that effectively eliminates motion blurriness or juddering. This property ensures sharp images when viewing any type of films and works well when playing games with your game console.
Plasma TVs have a wide effective viewing angle, and this TV is no exception. The TV rates at an 88-degree viewing angle and effective viewing angle is about 70 degrees. The wide viewing angle provides an excellent and consistent viewing experience at a wide range of angle in front of the TV screen.

One of its main competitors in its category is the Samsung UN55C700 LED TV. The Samsung TV costs about $900 more than the LG TV but provides a better online content option and a 3D capability. The Samsung TV supports an identical 1080p native display format and color accuracy performance. The Samsung TV though, has a better contrast ratio performance of 2500:1 compared to LG’s 2000:1. The boost in the Samsung’s contrast performance comes from its higher peak brightness level. Connectivity options are identical between the two TVs.
