Description:

Continuing directly after season 5, Vic and the Strike Team are distraught over Lem’s death. Shane has been overcome by guilt and becomes reckless and suicidal. Kavanaugh refuses to let the case die and resorts to planting evidence and coercing witnesses to lie about the Strike Team. Dutch and Claudette begin to suspect his integrity. Vic learns from Claudette that the Chief plans to force him into early retirement — and vows to wreak bloody vengeance on Lem’s killer before losing his badge. Claudette learns that the Barn could be shut down if no improvements are made by the time quarterly crime statistics are released.

Review

This season takes off right after the events of the season 5 finale, Forest is back for a few episodes this season, and is as good as ever.

This was a good season, Vic goes deeper and deeper into the rabbits hole, whilst trying everything imaginable to keep his job.

The tension gets a little out of control throughout this season as Shane gets in way over is head.

I loved this season, my only complaint would be after the last episode, I was stumped, I kept thinking my dvds were missing an episode, but they were not. I wish we had more than 10 episodes.

Next season will be the last season, I hate to have to say good bye to such a talented production.

The Shield, in WIDESCREEN! Need I say more? I found out each season (1-5) has been released in Europe as widescreen, why we in American have been forced to endure Full Frame is beyond my understanding. I’m glad Sony bought the rights to this show, they have done it “Justice”, and I cant say enough good things about this dvd set. I hope they release a complete collection soon, and in doing so, they release it all in widescreen.

A healthy amount of extras are included, and I enjoyed viewing each one.

One of my favorite shows that airs on TV. The drama is real, its in your face, its dirty, and I love it.

Bottom Line?
One of the best shows on TV, FX has a great many good shows, The Shield being their first really good TV show, its sad the next season is the last, but it is a great show, and I cannot recommend it enough. You do need to watch previous seasons to enjoy this season.
