Review
Season 4 of House takes off after the events of the last season. House is having a competition between several individuals wishing to be House’s new assistants. This takes place over several episodes, is fun, and typical house. It’s new for House, and I think gives newcomers a fresh start to the series.
I should state, House has no real big story, each episode consists of a story, that is usually resolved during that episode, and the occasional 2 parter. Last season we got a longer story, and it was really good, I enjoyed it, this season we get 2 stories that overarch. They do not require much effort to keep up on, which means you do not have to be sitting at your screen watching with anticipation.
This was a good season, it was cut short due to the strike, but ends quite well, I eagerly await season 5, and recommend a Buy for this season.
It is not required of you to view the previous seasons prior to viewing this one, due to the structure of the show. I should note, I do not typically watch medical shows, I started watching House because of the commercials that aired on USA network during shows that I do watch. The character House seemed intriguing and I wanted to get to know the show. It is very good, and I can honestly say, you do not need to watch previous seasons to view this one. It helps so you know the characters, but if you have seen some reruns, you will be ok.
Video - 5/5
Good video, strong, vibrant, and high tech, everything you would expect from a modern show.
Audio - 5/5
Great sound, and I love the music.
Supplements - 4/5
Several different features, nothing to exciting, but fun nonetheless, i enjoyed the “Bus Scene” making of, and the “Meet the Writers”, the other features are pretty good too, and help even out this short season release.
Overall - 4/5
Decent season, it starts off with characters fighting for the chance to be Houses assistant, and then goes into narrowing the selection down, by that time, there was very little else to go into this season, I do not wish to spoil the ending, but that arc took up the rest of the season after the final crew were selected. The show is House, each episode gives you a story from beginning to end, and has an overarching story. I like it, and its great to watch shows that have complete story lines in 40 minutes.
Overall Rating - 4/5 Stars
Video - 4/5
Audio - 4/5
Bonus - 4/5
Story - 4/5
Quick, easy to get into, requires no real dedication I recommend it
Bottom Line?
If you are a fan, buy it, if not, it’s still a worthy purchase, as House is quite the character.
